Clean Technologies: 1 year, 6 months ago · ViewHello all, please allow me to join this interesting conversation. There is an initiative in the more progressive minded states, in terms of environmental legislation, that promotes the use of renewable energy by passing legislation that requires that at least 10% of the energy used come from a renewable source. I believe that among these states are MD, NY, CT, CO, CA, MA. Companies like Viridian and Clean Currents are some of these clean energy providers.

Clean Technologies: 1 year, 6 months ago · ViewIf we look at the UN Human Development Index, as well as the WEF Competitiveness Report and Yale’s Environmental Performance index, all in context, we can see that great progress has been made. This is thanks to the fact that sustainable development and climate change have finally made it into the political agenda. So far, [...]

Clean Technologies: 1 year, 6 months ago · ViewI have not studied Colorado in detail; however, my impression from prior readings is that Colorado is one of the leaders behind California (where I lived for 35 years) but ahead of Maryland (where I live now). Furthermore, you have NREL which is doing much good work. As you said, this has attracted clean energy [...]

Clean Technologies: 1 year, 6 months ago · ViewAgree with Eduardo’s opinion that we need to promote the debate with people inserted. Since it is expensive to come to your country, I depend on you to promote. However, if cost was no obstacle, I would be happy to go anywhere to promote the message. One of the companies in our incubator has secured [...]

Wendy Bailey posted on the forum topic Clean energy creates many local jobs but it requires short-term subsidies in the group
Clean Technologies: 1 year, 6 months ago · ViewHi Bjorn, I would agree with you that subsidy is necessary until costs go down as economies of scale go up. I think many state governments (at least in the US) are aware of the positives and negatives of clean energy technologies. Take for example the state of Colorado. The governor has established the Governor’s [...]

Clean Technologies: 1 year, 6 months ago · ViewAre we aware that our real water footprint is related to the water that we do not see?. are we aware that our deep contribution to water conservation is not only through “on site” technologies and actions (all of that is necessary and plausible), but through our reviewing on our consumer habits, where the real [...]

Clean Technologies: 1 year, 6 months ago · ViewFor me Cap and Trade is a very good idea, and we have a lot of good projects around the world. In theory works well, but how to monitor it effectively? Clean Technologies: 1 year, 6 months ago · ViewOne good aspect of cap and trade is that rich countries pay when they exceed their assigned cap of greenhouse gas emmission and poor countries can receive money to build clean power generation. In the US, cap and trade is perceived as being a “hidden” tax while it actually is more like a distribution mechanism [...]
